The import procedure commences after the vehicle is purchased
and payment received. See Purchase Procedure. The following commences
immediately after payment:
- Import approval submitted
- De-registered if necessary
- De-gassed if necessary
- Taken to secure storage if required
- Transported to docks
- Customs and freight arranged
Sea freight normally takes 8-12 days.
As soon as the ship leaves Japan the following takes place:
- Freight doc’s and
BL’s are sent to Australia
- Australian customs arranged
- Vehicle unloaded and cleared
- All import fees and charges are collated
by customs broker
- Payment is required for vehicle to be released
from docks
- Vehicle is transported to compliance workshop if required

on its way to the compliance workshop and the next
